Aminata Touré appointed Commander of the National Order of the Lion

April 5, Dakar, Senegal - On the occasion of the 62nd Independence Day, President Macky Sall of the Republic of Senegal has elevated Dr. Aminata Touré, former Prime Minister, to the rank of Commander in the National Order of the Lion. Aminata Touré is also Advisory Board Member of Brazzaville Foundation.

Former President of Senegal's Economic, Social and Environmental Council (CESE), Aminata Touré works to strengthen democracy in Africa. Formerly Minister of Justice, Keeper of the Seals, Prime Minister and Special Envoy for Internal and External Affairs, she has held various positions within the United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA), including Director of the Culture, Gender Equality and Human Rights Branch.
