Imagine a new form of governance
The democratisation of Africa based on the electoral process is insufficient because it forgets essential anthropological and cultural elements, which it is time to convene to invent a governance adapted to the needs of the continent and the aspirations of the people.(Image caption: hemicycle of the African Union in Addis Ababa)
Inventing a governance adapted to the needs of the continent
Democratic transitions require time to find the terms of concord, and legislative adaptations to enshrine it, particularly with regard to the status of former heads of state.
With new African partners, Brazzaville Foundation wishes to launch a reflection aimed at rooting democracy in Africa through the search for a governance adapted to the needs of the continent. This initiative corresponds to one of the orientations of the African Union's Agenda 2063, which addresses the issue of governance from the perspective of democracy, respect for human rights, justice and the rule of law.
This new initiative will be communicated in the first half of 2023.
