From COP 22 to COP 26, the Brazzaville Foundation provides technical support to the Congo Basin Blue Fund
From 1 to 12 November, the Brazzaville Foundation will be present at COP 26 in Glasgow to accompany the member countries of the Congo Basin Climate Commission (CBCC), who will plead the urgency of preserving the Congo Basin, an African and global issue.

The Blue Fund pavilion at COP 26 is the fruit of collaborative work by the CBCC and Brazzaville Foundation teams, contained in the CBCC advocacy and communications strategy and the Blue Fund marketing and branding strategy approved at the second Summit of Heads of State and Government of CBCC, which met on September 30, 2021.
Initially conceived by the experts gathered by Brazzaville Foundation in 2016, the Congo Basin Blue Fund was carried by His Excellency the President of the Republic of Congo Denis Sassou N'Guesso during the COP 22 in Marrakech, with the support of the King of Morocco, His Majesty Mohammed VI.

In 2021, five years later, the partners present the successful trajectory of an African project: the Congo Basin Blue Fund has become an African development fund supported by 16 Central and East African countries, members of the Congo Basin Climate Commission. It is managed by the Development Bank of Central African States (BDEAC). It aims to promote regional integration and the well-being of populations, by meeting climate challenges on a continental and global scale, through the financing of a pipeline of 254 projects based on the principles of the green and blue economy in each of the countries involved in its governance.
In March 2017 in Oyo, Congo, a Memorandum of Understanding was signed by 10 heads of state and government. The expertise of 4C Morocco was then called upon to coordinate the focal points and associated technical experts, with the support of the World Bank and UNDP. Finally, in 2019, a prefiguration study was entrusted to the EY-Innpact consortium.
During COP 26, official meetings, side events and visits by delegations and observers are scheduled: the pavilion is the central point of information and exchange on the preservation of the Congo Basin. Find all the documents, photos and videos on the the Blue Fund website.
