In 2022, the Brazzaville Foundation will continue to design, promote and support African initiatives

Despite the operational difficulties generated by the pandemic, for the second year, the Brazzaville Foundation has been very active during the year 2021. In the summary below, we offer you a panorama of the actions carried out in the service of peace, environment and health with our African partners, whom we thank for their trust.

In the coming year, the Brazzaville Foundation will continue to design, promote and support initiatives and programmes in these three areas.

Jean-Yves Ollivier organizes a meeting for the facilitation of intra-Libyan dialogue

Under the impulse of Jean-Yves Ollivier, Sheikh Farhat Jaabiri, spiritual leader of the ibadites met with Denis Sassou N'Guesso, President of the Republic of Congo and of the High-Level Committee of the African Union on Libya, to assure the Congolese president of the support of the ibadite community to the African Union's action on Libya. HRH Prince Michael of Kent sends message of support to Congo Basin leaders

In Hall 5 of COP 26 in Glasgow, the Blue Fund pavilion welcomed Mr. Denis Sassou NGuesso, President of the Republic of Congo and President of the Congo Basin Climate Commission (CBCC), and Mr. Félix Tshisekedi, President of the Democratic Republic of Congo, who is also President of the African Union, in the presence of Jean-Yves Ollivier, Blue Fund Goodwill Ambassador. H.E. Adama Barrow, President of the Republic of The Gambia, received in audience Jean-Yves Ollivier to confirm his country's desire to engage in the fight against falsified and substandard medicines under the Lomé Initiative. The Gambia thus becomes the seventh signatory country of the Lomé Initiative. Read more

The Brazzaville Foundation becomes an observer to the Committee of Parties of the MEDICRIME Convention

The Committee of the Parties to the Council of Europe's MEDICRIME Convention, an important player in the fight against trafficking of counterfeit medicines at the international level, has granted observer status to Brazzaville Foundation. This convention is part of the legal arsenal that the signatory countries of the Lomé Initiative have committed to ratify. For more information, see

Niger: The President of the Republic raises Jean-Yves Ollivier to the rank of Officer of the National Order of Niger

Nicholas Chance steps down from the Foundation's Board of Trustees

We thank Nicholas Chance for these valuable years of expertise and advice. He had contributed greatly to the creation of the Brazzaville Foundation in London in 2014 and 2015 in the wake of HRH Prince Michael of Kent, Royal Patron, of whom he was then Private Secretary. Read more

United Nations: Brazzaville Foundation joins the board of directors of the NGO conference
December 1, New York, USA

 

At the end of the 27th General Assembly of the Conference of NGOs (CoNGO) in consultative relationship with the Economic and Social Council of the United Nations (ECOSOC) in New York, the Brazzaville Foundation has joined the Board of Directors as Treasurer. For three years, it will be the guarantor of the application of the principles of independence, transparency and integrity for the NGO community in working relationship with the United Nations system.
