Present in Brazzaville, Republic of Congo, from October 3 to 5, the Foundation took the opportunity of these three days of work devoted to accelerating the operationalisation of the Congo Basin Climate Commission to share its vision for the structuring of the Blue Fund. Now open to all ECCAS and East African Community countries, the Blue Fund is also attracting interest from Kenya, Uganda, Equatorial Guinea, Sao Tome and Principe, South Sudan, Tanzania and Zambia.

Brazzaville Foundation also took advantage of the visit to agree a partnership with Morocco's Climate Change Competence Centre, 4C, whose role in managing the Fund's prefiguration study was confirmed. An agreement will be signed shortly.

"There are major milestones ahead of us, and they call for our full attention mobilisation. I hope that this Conference will mark the starting point of an inclusive dialogue, not only to protect the surrounding ecosystems, but also to contribute to improving people's quality of life," emphasized Sir David Richmond, the Foundation's Chief Executive , in his address to the expert segment.
