Kyiv, Ukraine, 14 February 2023 - A delegation from Brazzaville Foundation composed of Mr. Amama Mbabazi, former Prime Minister of Uganda and Advisory Board Member of the Foundation, and Mr. Jean-Yves Ollivier, Founding Chairman of the Foundation, paid a two-day visit to Kyiv on February 13 and 14, 2023. The delegation was warmly welcomed and took part in meetings at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the President's office.

This visit to Ukraine was preceded by a successful trip to the Russian Federation in December 2022, during which Foundation representatives met with Russian government representatives in Moscow.

A London-based civil society organization, the Brazzaville Foundation's main objective is to promote peace through conflict resolution. In the case of the conflict between Russia and Ukraine, it is playing a facilitating role in response to the request of several African heads of state who have launched an initiative aimed at a process of peaceful dialogue and a rapid end to the conflict in Ukraine.

From Kyiv, the Foundation's delegation will travel to Addis Ababa, on the sidelines of the African Union summit, to brief the African heads of state involved.

H.E. President Olusegun Obasanjo, former President of Nigeria and Advisory Board Member of Brazzaville Foundation, was due to lead the delegation to Kyiv, but was prevented from doing so by other commitments. He will be part of the delegation reporting to the relevant African Heads of State meeting in Addis Ababa.
