20240212-PresidentsZR

12 February, London - Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy held talks with South African President Cyril Ramaphosa. This exchange is part of the efforts undertaken by the African Peace Mission, made up of six African leaders, to facilitate dialogue and reach a peaceful solution to the conflict between Ukraine and Russia.

Presidents Zelenskyy and Ramphosa exchanged views on Friday 16 June 2023 at Kyiv (Ukraine) during a meeting organised as part of the African Peace Mission to facilitate Ukraine-Russia dialogue, © Official website of the President of Ukraine.

The sending of a South African representative to the "Peace Formula" meetings, hailed by the Ukrainian President, testifies to South Africa's commitment to promoting peace and stability in the region. The two presidents also discussed preparations for the Global Peace Summit in Switzerland.

We are informed that contacts between the head of the African mission, South African President Cyril Ramaphosa, and the parties involved in the conflict remain active, and we welcome the fact that progress continues to be made. Find out more about the African peace mission
