Jean-Louis Bruguière

Former French judge specialised in the fight against terrorism

A distinguished former French judge internationally known for his work on antiterrorism cases, Jean-Louis Bruguière was the first vice-president of the Paris tribunal de grande instance where he coordinated the antiterrorist unit. Appointed by the European Union as part of an audit for a US financial intelligence programme (TFTP), he is, amongst his various commitments, a member of the Chertoff Group’s Advisory Board and helps the Foundation in its work on falsified and substandard medicines.

- Participation in the Lomé Summit and the launch of the Lomé Initiative against Medicines that kill

- Presentation at webinar on fake medicines organised with the Women in Africa Initiative

- Coordination and follow-up of the legislative audit on falsified medicines in Lomé Initiative signatory countries

- Presentation at theside event organised by UNODC at the Commission on Crime Prevention and Criminal Justice

- Intervention at the high-level round table "COVID-19 and the growing risks of substandard and falsified pharmaceutical products in Africa: a public health and safety issue".
