North-South Security Cooperation: The Brazzaville Foundation co-organises a roundtable at the Future Resilience Forum

14 October, London - The Brazzaville Foundation co-organised a roundtable on the security landscape in Africa and its implications for North-South relations, as part of the second edition of the Future Resilience Forum. Moderated by its Founding Chairman Jean-Yves Ollivier, this discussion brought together influential stakeholders from the public and private sectors to discuss the security challenges facing the African continent, and its role in the international order.

The Forum was inaugurated by a keynote address from the former President of Senegal, H.E. Mr. Macky Sall, who stressed the urgent need for a new partnership based on mutual respect and tailored solutions to global challenges such as terrorism, climate change and migration crises. He also called for a reform of multilateralism to meet Africa's needs and prevent fragmentation of the international system.

 

During the roundtable, speakers called for a North-South partnership focused on African ownership of security challenges, supported by international aid. They also stressed the need for improved governance and media initiatives to promote peace.
