Exchange of views between Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Mikhail Bogdanov and Jean-Yves Ollivier on the challenges of the African continent

On April 7, 2021, the Special Representative of the President of the Russian Federation for the Middle East and African countries, Deputy Foreign Minister of Russia Mikhail Bogdanov received Jean-Yves Ollivier, President of the Brazzaville Foundation.

During the conversation, a mutually interesting exchange of views took place on current African issues with emphasis on the need to overcome crises and conflict situations on the continent in accordance with the principle of "African problems - African solutions".
 
The issues of Russian-African cooperation were also discussed in the context of the implementation of the results of the first Russia-Africa summit in Sochi in October 2019 and preparations for the next summit in 2022 in one of the states of the continent. The Russia-Africa summit concluded with the signing of a joint declaration in which the development of cooperation on an equal basis, especially at the economic and trade levels, was raised. A better representation of Africa in the United Nations Security Council was also discussed.
