Fighting Fake Medicines: The Brazzaville Foundation becomes a member of the Fight the Fakes Alliance
London, 23 February 2022 - As part of the strengthening of its programme work against fake medicines in Africa, the Brazzaville Foundation becomes a member of the Fight the Fakes Alliance. This new step reflects the commitment of the signatory countries of the Lomé Initiative to effectively combat the trafficking that persists on the African continent.
Brazzaville Foundation joins the Alliance, alongside three other new members (the Alliance for Safe Online Pharmacies, Butler University and New Giza University), pledging to take the fight against substandard and falsified medicines to the next level.
The Fight the Fakes Alliance, a not-for-profit association, brings together organisations representatives of healthcare professionals, manufacturers, wholesalers, researchers and patients to raise awareness of the dangers of falsified and substandard medicines worldwide.
This new partnership, in line with the Lomé Initiative's 2022-2024 outlookreflects the strengthening of the initiative's partnership framework to combat trafficking on the African continent.
