During this meeting, President Barrow confirmed his country's desire to engage in the fight against falsified and substandard medicines under the Lomé Initiative launched in January 2020 under the auspices of President Faure Gnassingbé, by Congo (Brazzaville), Ghana, Niger, Uganda, Senegal, and Togo. The Gambia will thus become the seventh signatory country of the Lomé Initiative.
