Togo establishes a National Medicines Regulatory Agency

At its meeting on 7 September, the Togolese Council of Ministers adopted a decree establishing the National Regulatory Agency for Medicines and Other Health Products, which is tasked, among other things, with strengthening quality control and pharmacovigilance.

This progress is part of Togo's ongoing efforts to combat counterfeit medicines more effectively.

 

In this context, the Brazzaville Foundation provides technical support to the country, notably through the Lomé Initiative, launched in 2020 at the Foundation’s initiative to strengthen African cooperation against the trafficking of counterfeit and substandard medicines.

 

Through this support, the Brazzaville Foundation helps assist countries committed to implementing more effective national and regional responses to this public health crisis.
