Togo to head the West African Health Organisation

20260213-Togo-WA

Togo is preparing to take over the leadership of the West African Health Organisation (WAHO). This decision, taken during discussions between member states of the Economic Community of West African States (ECOWAS), confirms Lomé's growing role in regional health governance.

This development reinforces the Togolese Republic's commitment to combating fake medicines, particularly through the Lomé Initiative, for which it provides political coordination. The Brazzaville Foundation welcomes this momentum and continues to work alongside the Togolese authorities to strengthen regional cooperation and provide lasting protection for West African populations against counterfeit and substandard medical products.
